Surprise Yourself By Taking Chances

How many times have you had the discussion that followed? You try to convince someone to do something, and they say, "No, that's not what I like." You ask them how many times they've actually done that stuff, and finally they say they've never done it, but they still maintain that they know they're not going to like it. When it comes to food, and particularly healthy food, that's the way many of us act.

The bare reality of healthy eating is that it requires a little expansion of your repertoire. Since we like what we are used to, many of us will have bellyaches about trying a new food.
Once again the things we have eaten for years were fresh to us and the problem is one of being set in our own ways. Every once in a while, if you try anything different, you will become better acquainted with variety, and choose the new things you really want.

There is no point in trying to cultivate a taste for something you know you don't like by bashing your head against a brick wall. However, once you really try it you can never know if you like anything. In international cuisine, this is particularly true. It might look strange, but it is consumed daily by millions of people, so it can hardly be poisonous. It is not going to be your death to take a leap of faith and try a new diet, so why not try something different once a week and surprise yourself with how much you enjoy it?
